Colets Health & Fitness signs with OS Generation Group
OS Generation Group, the leading sustainable energy company focussed on on-site energy generation for the leisure and hospitality sector, has signed a contract with Colets Health and Fitness, an independent, not-for-profit health club nestled in the heart of Thames Ditton. The agreement will provide the club with a phased programme of energy technology solutions including CHP, Solar, Battery Storage and EV charging. The move to OS Generation Group solidifies Colet’s commitment to their sustainability initiatives and their roadmap to net zero – saving them money, and carbon for the planet.
Colets has been a significant health and fitness landmark in Thames Ditton since 1977, historically known as the Old Pauline Sports Club, it is a vibrant part of the local community, boasting a fully equipped gym spread over two floors, 160 fitness classes a week, a 25m swimming pool with a sauna, steam and jacuzzi, a treatment centre and squash courts.
The ten-year agreement begins with the installation of Combined Heat and Power (CHP), and Solar PV in the first phase and will then be followed by the introduction of other technologies including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and EV charging stations – the latter helping to provide their members with a great guest experience.
The Club signed up to OS Generation Group’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) – which will see the club benefit from a saving on their power and heating costs, without any up-front capital required. In addition, OS Generation Group will manage all the servicing and maintenance for the lifetime of the agreement, so there are no incremental costs to maintain the units. The first phase of the programme is forecast to deliver savings of around £21k per annum and will also save approximately 30 tonnes of carbon per year.
Ian Turley, Managing Director of Colets Health and Fitness said, “OS Generation proposed an evolving solution that meets both our Sustainability and Energy cost reduction goals. The technologies proposed, including Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Solar PV followed by Battery Storage and EV chargers help us to align with our sustainability goals. With the capital and ongoing support costs funded by OS Generation Group, coupled with the fact this will provide immediate savings and a lower carbon footprint for our energy usage, it has made this an easy decision.”
Andrew Crowley, co-founder of OS Generation Group said, “We’re excited to begin installation at Colets so they can start to see the benefits of this combination of technologies. Our approach provides zero risk and complete peace of mind, all while helping them on the road to net zero.”
