Game-changing CoverMe Fitness staff management app goes live in Australia

CoverMe Fitness, the seamless, on-demand management and cover solution app for fitness professionals, has gone live in Australia to connect educated and qualified fitness professionals with local clubs and studios.

Designed exclusively for the fitness industry by fitness people, the CoverMe app is revolutionising studio management by helping clubs manage and reward their teams, as well as scout for fresh talent, ensuring high-quality classes and sessions take place to provide a first-class member experience.

The latest figures show CoverMe achieves a 97% cover rate, helping clubs and studios consistently achieve near-total coverage for their subbing needs. The app saves venues approximately seven hours per week by automating manual tasks like scheduling and communication, while clubs also report a 78% increase in team engagement and satisfaction. On average, venues gain three new team members through the platform each month.

To date, the CoverMe app has been adopted by 3,600 fitness clubs and venues, including Virgin Active, Fitness First, Total Fitness and Serco, to streamline staff management and enable fitness professionals to advance their careers and boost their income. Every operator that joins CoverMe has remained with the platform, demonstrating its value and reliability. Figures show that instructors using CoverMe teach an average of 13 more classes each month and also save six hours each month by automating invoicing and admin tasks.

Female fitness operators, Rosanna Tucker and Beverlee Brinkworth, founded CoverMe in the UK in 2023. They expanded to the US in partnership with IDEA® Health & Fitness Association in summer 2024, appointing the award-winning fitness educator and keynote speaker, Doris Thews, to help integrate the app into the US market.

Chelsea Clifford has now been appointed as Vice President of Sales Australia & New Zealand. As an owner of a women’s strength and conditioning gym on the NSW Central Coast for 10 years, she has an intimate understanding of the staffing and recruitment challenges fitness business owners face. A registered nurse, Clifford’s 20-year career has spanned health, fitness and business, most recently working in product development.

Clifford still coaches in her local gym today. She says:

Exercise as medicine is a core value of mine and my career reflects that. My passion is to support everyday Aussies to improve their health via exercise, and fitness professionals are key to this. I want to help group fitness and operational managers navigate their staffing challenges so we can keep the right people in our industry, with the volume of work they need to build successful careers.”

“For too long the fitness industry has been a part-time/side-hustle job for the majority. CoverMe helps to create more employment opportunities in venues to keep the best professionals where they should be – in front of clients working their magic. It’s what really excites me about the brand. This concept and technology hasn’t been seen on this scale in this country; Australia and New Zealand has everything to gain from CoverMe.
— Chelsea Clifford, Vice President of Sales, Australia & New Zealand
