P81 – Embracing Change and Overcoming Brexit
P81 have been supplying the UK Leisure market for over 25 years and are among the market leaders and ‘go to’ suppliers for all banded merchandise and uniform supplies.
In recent years the demand has grown globally and particularly within Europe. For P81, our European trade had been growing slowly but steadily in the 2010’s however the landscape changed significantly after 31st January 2020 when Brexit was finally ratified.
Brexit has presented us with hurdles, but we have viewed this as an opportunity for growth and transformation. We began by putting measures in place to navigate through the bureaucratic challenges we were presented with.
Our top priority has always been to continue providing the exceptional service and quality products that clients have come to expect from us. To achieve this, we have implemented several strategic initiatives:
European Set up: We have set up a Dutch entity with VAT number and article23 licence enabling us to deliver to our EU client effortlessly.
European Distribution: We are working closely with partners to offer a European warehouse solution.
Market Diversification: As a result of the experiences gained with the EU it has enables us to further expand supplies into territories further afield now with several customers in Switzerland, Latvia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and the US to name a few.
Direct Distribution: we now have set up partners in many countries not only enabling us to distribute from the uk, but also direct from our factories around the world directly to our clients in their country – thus saving on costs for the client and more importantly time.
Working together, we can overcome any challenges that come our way, we will conquer the Brexit hurdle and continue building a brighter future. Emerging stronger and more united than ever before. Since Brexit P81 have seen a 100% increase in our overseas business and are proud to have developed an enviable client base of multi-site operators including Pure Gym, Basic Fit, Sports City, Meridian, Asprilla, Trib3, David Lloyd Leisure as well as trade suppliers such as NXT Level Protein and XXL Nutrition.
We are now perfectly placed to supply globally taking care of not just the products but the full supply chain from manufacture, delivery, and all paperwork’s relating the VAT and Duty.
